Founder SPIC MACAY

Dr. Kiran Seth, born in 1949, is an esteemed Ex-Professor and Professor Emeritus at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. Since 1976, he has dedicated himself to teaching and conducting research in the field of Operations Research at the institute. However, he is most renowned as the visionary founder of SPIC MACAY in 1977.

SPIC MACAY stands as a testament to Dr. Kiran Seth's passion for promoting Indian classical music, dance, folk traditions, yoga, meditation, handlooms, handicrafts, cinema classics, and various facets of Indian culture. Under his guidance, SPIC MACAY has blossomed into a prolific non-profit organization, conducting approximately 5000 events annually across 500 towns in India and around 50 events abroad. These events take the form of conventions, baithaks, lecture demonstrations, and musical festivals, attracting youth from all corners of the globe.

In recognition of his significant contributions to the cultural landscape of India and his tireless efforts in spreading awareness and appreciation for Indian heritage, Dr. Kiran Seth was honored with the prestigious Padma Shri award by the Government of India in 2009. His lifelong dedication to enriching lives through the promotion of Indian culture continues to inspire generations and leaves an indelible mark on the cultural fabric of our nation.

In addition to his remarkable contributions to academia and cultural preservation, Dr. Kiran Seth is currently in the last stages of an extraordinary solo cycling yatra. Since 2022, Dr. Seth has embarked on a cycling journey spanning approximately 14,000 kilometers across India. His mission has been nothing short of inspiring: to awaken the youth to the abstract, subtle, and mystical dimensions embedded within India's rich cultural heritage.

Throughout his arduous journey, Dr. Seth has traversed the length and breadth of the country, reaching hundreds of educational institutions and engaging with thousands of young minds. Through his interactions, he has passionately advocated for the profound value of Indian classical music and culture, igniting a spark of curiosity and appreciation among the youth. Dr. Kiran Seth's cycling yatra stands as a testament to his unwavering commitment to nurturing cultural understanding and fostering a deeper connection with India's timeless heritage.
