DAMODAR MAUZO

Damodar Mauzo is a celebrated short story writer, novelist, critic and script writer in Konkani. He began his writing career with short stories with the first collection Ganthon being published in 1971. He has written 5 short story collections, three novels and numerous other books, all of which have been translated in different languages. He is also co-founder of Goa Arts and literature festival.

He was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1983 for his novel Karmelin and 57th Jnanpith Award, India's highest literary honour, in 2022
